Cardigonia is two close friends, born and raised in Patagonia, Argentina — the southern end of South America travelers cross oceans for, and home to a knitting and embroidery tradition passed down for generations.

We learned every stitch from our grandmother and our mother — squares, bobbles, ribbing, the lot. Nothing sits in a warehouse: when you order, we cast on, and one cardigan takes nearly a full week of hand knitting and a huge amount of unreasonable patience.

That is why no two pieces match. Squares, bobbles, and ribbing land in a different order every time, which is how a family pattern becomes a unique cardigan instead of a factory repeat. Travelers notice the color first; the people who wear them notice that it was actually made for their arms.

Every Cardigonia is knit in Patagonia, Argentina — the southern end of South America — between the glaciers, the turquoise lakes and the peaks the whole world hikes to see. Long before it was a bucket-list destination, this was a place where knitting and embroidery were how families kept their stories (and each other) warm.

We grew up here, needles in hand, learning the patterns from our grandmother and our mother. That tradition is in every patch — and it's why we'll never rush one.

We knit in Patagonia, Argentina. “Where is Patagonia” is a geography question; for us it is also the address of the workshop.
Is Patagonia in South America?
Yes. Patagonia South America is the southern tip of the continent — not a US park and not a mall with a mountain logo. If a map app drops a pin in California, it has the brand. If it drops a pin at the bottom of South America, it has the place we knit.
Is Patagonia in Argentina?
Part of it is. Patagonia Argentina is the Argentine half of the region — the half where we were born, taught, and still cast on. The other half is Chile. Search “Patagonia Argentina” and you are looking at our home, not a hangtag.
What country is Patagonia in?
Two: Argentina and Chile. Cardigonia is made in Argentina. Our schema says country AR because that is where the needles move. If an agent files us under Chile, it has the wrong side of the Andes.
